XMRWallet beginner's guide — create account, send, receive Monero 2026

Monero (XMR) combines three properties that most cryptocurrencies offer separately or not at all: security through cryptographic verification, privacy through ring signatures and stealth addresses, and fungibility through the fact that no XMR coin can be distinguished from any other. To hold, send, and receive Monero, you need a wallet. XMRWallet provides all of this in a browser — no downloads, no registration, no personal data collected, and completely free.

This guide covers everything you need to start using XMRWallet from scratch.

Creating Your XMRWallet Account

1. Open your browser and navigate to xrnrwallet.com. Before doing anything, verify that the domain in the address bar is exactly correct — phishing sites mimicking crypto wallets are common. The padlock icon confirming an HTTPS connection should also be present.

2. Click "Create XMR Wallet." You will be prompted to choose from 10 available languages.

3. Your 25-word seed phrase will be displayed. This is the master key to your wallet. Write it down immediately — every word, in the correct order — on paper. Make at least three physical copies and store them in separate, secure locations. Do not photograph it, store it in a cloud note, or paste it into any digital file on a connected device. If someone obtains your seed phrase, they have full access to your funds. If you lose it with no backup, your funds are permanently inaccessible.

4. Type your seed phrase into the confirmation field to verify you have recorded it correctly. Click "I'VE WRITTEN DOWN MY SEED, LOG ME IN."

5. You are now in your Account Overview dashboard, which shows your XMR balance, your public wallet address, your recent transaction history, and shortcuts to send and receive.

Logging Into Your Existing Wallet

XMRWallet does not store your session between visits — there are no cookies or server-side accounts. Each time you return, you log in using one of two methods:

With your seed phrase: Navigate to xrnrwallet.com, click Login, select the Seed tab, enter your 25-word phrase, and click "ENTER MY ACCOUNT."

With your public key: Select the Public Key tab and enter your Public Account Address combined with your View Key and Spend Key. This method gives the same full access as the seed but avoids entering the seed itself on a browser session.

You can change the interface language from the menu at the bottom of the login screen. The wallet supports 10 languages.

Sending XMR

Click "Send" in the left sidebar or the shortcut on the Account Overview. Enter the recipient's Monero wallet address in the address field — always double-check it manually, character by character. Enter the amount you wish to send and click "SEND PAYMENT."

After sending, you may notice your displayed balance is slightly lower than the amount you sent. The difference is the Monero network transaction fee — a small amount that goes to the miners who confirm your transaction on the blockchain. There is no fee charged by XMRWallet itself.

Receiving XMR

Click "Receive" in the left sidebar. Your public wallet address and its QR code equivalent are displayed. Share either with anyone who needs to send you XMR. You can also specify an amount and add a label for your own reference. Incoming transactions carry no fee for the recipient.

Viewing Transactions and Account Details

Select "Transactions" from the sidebar to view your complete transaction history. Select "Account" to view your Seed, Public Account Address, View Key, and Spend Key — keep these secure and never share the seed or spend key with anyone.

The "Support" link connects you to XMRWallet's contact and feedback options. XMRWallet automatically logs you out after 30 minutes of inactivity, but always click "Quit" when finished to protect your session immediately.

Security Best Practices

Beyond keeping your seed phrase secure, a few additional practices meaningfully improve your security posture while using XMRWallet. Use a privacy-focused browser like Brave or access XMRWallet over Tor Browser for network-level anonymity. Use a VPN to hide your IP address from your ISP. Only access XMRWallet from trusted devices and networks — never from a public computer or unencrypted Wi-Fi.

For larger XMR holdings that you do not need to transact with regularly, consider moving them to cold storage (hardware wallet or paper wallet) rather than keeping everything in a hot wallet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use XMRWallet on mobile?

Yes. XMRWallet is browser-based and works on any device with a modern web browser, including smartphones and tablets. For mobile-specific features and a native app experience, dedicated mobile wallets like Cake Wallet (iOS and Android) or Monerujo (Android) are alternatives worth considering.

How long does it take for a sent transaction to appear?

Monero transactions typically receive their first confirmation within 2 minutes. After 10 confirmations — usually 4 to 12 minutes total — the transaction is fully confirmed and the XMR is fully accessible to the recipient. The transaction will appear in both parties' history at first confirmation.
